"A Moderate Alternative Voice"

I am running for 3rd District Supervisor and I hope to represent you at the County table.  I am currently serving on the Buellton City Council and having been doing so for the past 16 years including three terms as Mayor.  Throughout this time I have gained extensive knowledge and experience in local government while implementing all phases of forming a new city, from creating and adopting a General Plan to establishing budgets and implementing policies and procedures.  All one has to do is look at the healthy financial stability and vibrancy of Buellton to know that with my help this community is the flagship of the Santa Barbara County.  I will work hard to return this very image to Santa Barbara County.

You should know that when I am elected I will strive to voice your opinions in an effort to represent your concerns.  A change is on the horizon for the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors.  Since the current 3rd District Supervisor is vacating his position this has consequently opened the seat up to a new face.  I can assure you that I am the best person who can help move this County forward in a positive direction. 

The Santa Barbara County is one which in rich in assets and natural beauty. With your help I ensure that I will strive to champion policies that will encourage change especially in the area of financial stability.  We have the ability to set ourselves apart from other jurisdiction by driving cutting edge principles to the forefront.  We must all be stewards and advocates of healthy decision making.  Together we can bring about positive changes which can make us a leader in the state.

I aim at balancing the County budget while continuing to provide needed services and programs which you all so deserve.  Economic development, fiscal prudence and financial accountability must be achieved for the success of this larger community. 

There are many issues that the County addresses and acts upon; often with limited input from the very people they aim to serve.  I acknowledge the needed input and attention necessary to create a healthy environment.  We all have a stake and a right in the decision making process! 

It is difficult to tailor all my positions here in this letter due to the diversity of this vast geographic area.  You each have common concerns yet I can embrace the uniqueness of your diverse area.  I hope to reach out to each of you and share in meaningful dialogue in order to understand your interests and concerns.  With this understanding I can better represent you.
